Applicants must have ONE of the following training and / or accreditation in order to be eligible for membership:

1. Members must have completed a Language Interpreters Training Program (LITP) offered by Ontario colleges or training programs approved by the board.

Members must have successfully passed the official certification examination for language proficiency in the related language for which they intend to provide interpretation. These are ILSAT or CILISAT.

2. Interpreters must be accredited by the Ministry of Attorney General, with at least 3 years of experience.

3. Interpreters must be accredited by the Immigration and Refugee Board, with at least 3 years of experience.

To complete application, please email supporting documents to aplicanada@gmail.com and e-transfer $40.00 to aplicanada@gmail.com. Due to costs associated with administrative processing, this fee is not refundable in the event the application is not approved.
Please Note: The interpreter has the responsibility to notify APLI of any credential updates or status changes.
