Applicants must meet ONE of the following trainings or accreditation in order to be eligible for membership:
1. Completion of a Language Interpreters Training Program (LITP) at one of the following Ontario colleges.
- Seneca College
- Mohawk College
- Conestoga College
- Humber College
- Niagara College
- St. Clair College
- Glendon College York University
Applicants must also have successfully passed Ontario’s standardized language proficiency test (ILSAT or CILISAT) in their target language(s).
2. Completion of an APLI Board approved community-based Interpreter Training Program through community organizations such as, but not limited, to the following,

3. Accreditation by the Ontario’s Ministry of Attorney General (MAG), supported by a minimum of three (3) years of professional interpreting experience.
4. Acceditation by the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), supported by a minimum of three (3) years of professional interpreting experience.
APLI (Association of Professional Language Interpreters) is an organization for all qualified and trained interpreters in Canada. It is dedicated to improving the profession for community interpreters, servicing users and service providers, creating a shared environment, and supporting and minimizing work-related issues.
